Who really wants to go home after an eight hour work day and cook dinner? Not only do I work those eight hours, but I also have at least an hour commute home and many evenings I go to the gym after work. This doesn’t get me home until about 7:30pm and sometimes even later than that. And to be honest, the last thing I really want to do is grocery shop and then cook dinner. There are a few grocery delivery services, but they aren’t available in our area yet. So I’m always looking for the easiest way plan dinners. While we do a lot of crockpot cooking, I like to mix it up. My sister sent me a link for a free Green Chef box. I had never heard of them before. It’s a meal service where they deliver exact grocery ingredients and recipes for you to cook 3 meals that serve 2 people.
We tried out our first free box and loved the recipes and meals. Plus free makes it a whole lot better! After that, the carnivore box will run you $89.94. This is $9 shipping and then $13.49 per serving. This seems a bit pricey, but considering the recipes are very unique and things we normally wouldn’t make at home, I like to get a box here and there. We have yet to come across a recipe we didn’t love! It’s like restaurant meals, but cheaper than what you’d pay at a restaurant. We’ve had such a variation from tuna poke, to steak arepas, to pear and goat cheese flatbread, to tahini chicken.
The way it works is you sign up and you can pick the type of basket: Carnivore, omnivore, gluten-free, paleo, vegetarian, and vegan. All baskets are organic, no hormones or antibiotics, no genetically modified organism, and no synthetic pesticides. And each will run about 500-750 calories so it’s healthy eating!
